He came to No. 310 Czechoslovak Fighter Squadron in Duxford as a P/O on 12th July 1940. There he was assigned into squadron's reserve by reason of many pilots and because he hadn't conversion course for Hurricane yet.

Retraining on Hurricane he started on 17th August 1940 at No. 6 O.T.U at Sutton Bridge. When he finished retraining, he was transfered to No. 1 Squadron on 10th September 1940. There he stayed only for two weeks and then he was posted to No. 17 Squadron. At this unit he served till 5th June 1941 when he finished his operational duty in the rank of F/Lt.

Since the second half of 1941 he served as Staff Officer at Czechoslovak Inspectorate General (CIG) in London as a member of Intelligence Department. The war he ended in the rank of W/Cdr.

In 1948 when the Communist took over in Czechoslovakia, he emigrated to England where he died on 18th September 1979.
