He came to No. 310 Czechoslovak
Fighter Squadron in Duxford as a Sgt on 12th
July 1940. There he was assigned into squadron's reserve by reason of many
pilots there and because he hadn't conversion course for Hurricane yet.
Retraining on Hurricane he started on 17th August 1940 at No. 6 O.T.U at Sutton Bridge. When he finished retraining he was posted on 10th September for short time to No. 111 Squadron to Drem together with P/O Vykoukal. On 26th September he was transfered to No. 253 Squadron to Kenley. There he made many patrols over Kent till the end of the year 1940. Since 1941 he flew only few patrols over convoys. He finished his operational service on 7th March 1941 and then he served as instructor pilot in many training units RAF. Since 1941 he served as instructor and his final rank was F/Lt in 1945. No more details known. He died on 19th August 1983 in Zimbabwe. |
