After retraining on Hurricane I he was on 19th October 1940
posted to No. 111 Squadron to Dyce.
On 21st February 1941 he on Hurricane I (V7462) and P/O Kellet on Hurricane (V6868) were returning to base when they saw an enemy plane. It was Junkers Ju 88 and both pilots attacked it. Enemy pilot was more succesful and Junkers escaped just damaged. On 20th May 1942 he came to No. 313 Cechoslovak Fighter Squadron and after one month he left squadron for the rest. Till 15th December when he return to operational duty at No. 310 Czechoslovak Fighter Squadron he served as instructor at No. 57 Operational Training Unit. On 3rd July 1944 he finished his operational duty and he was transfered to Czechoslovak Depot at Cosford for the rest. For his excellent operational duty he was on 28th December awarded by DFC. In January 1945 he stated retraining for night fighter and he was tranfered to No. 51. O.T.U. to Cranfield. In March he had an accident during training flight with Mosquito NF XII and he was seriously wounded. After his return to CSR he served at 1st Air Division at Kbely which was equiped by Spitfires. After 1948 he was turned off from Czechoslovak Air Force and he was arrested for 2 years at Mirov. He died on 15th May 1993 at Nova Paka. |
