He came to No. 310 Czechoslovak Fighter Squadron on 12th July 1940. Retraining on Hurricane he absolved at No. 310 Squadron during July and first half of August.

On 15th September during dogfight over London was his Hurricane I R4085 (NN-A) shot down by Bf 109. He flew with burning plane out of town and then bale out. He landed on filed near Church at Billericay, approximatelly 150 metres from burning wreck of his Hurricane.

For his excellent duty and leadership he was on 28th October 1940 awarded by Distinguished Flying Cross (DFC).

On 28th February 1941 he finished his operational duty and he served as Staff Officer at Czechoslovak Inspectorate General (CIG) at London. From 1942 to 1946 he was as Czechoslavak Air Attache (CAA) in Washington.

In 1948 when the Communist took over in CSR he emigrated and he returned to the USA, where he died on 10th August 1981.
