During training flight on 10th October 1940 at 14.15 engine of his Hurricane I L1547 caught fire and he bale out near Oglett but the wind blown him over river Mersey. There he fell down into river mud, 300 - 400 yards from the riverside and he drowned.
His body was found 5 miles to the east from Speke on 1st November 1940 and it was burried in Liverpool. He was the first killed pilot of No. 312 Czechoslovak Fighter Squadron. |
