He came to No. 310 Czechoslovak
Fighter Squadron on 12th July 1940. Retraining on Hurricane
he absolved at No. 310 Squadron during July and first half of August.
On 31th August was his Hurricane I P3888 damaged by enemy return fire and he landed safetly on base. On 7th September was his Hurricane I V6643 (NN-Y) damaged in dogfight with Bf 110s and its engine failured. At 17.30 he made crash landing at Whitman Farm near Maldon. Even so he was satisfacted because in previous dogfight he shot down two of Bf 110s. On 18th October four Czech pilots from No. 310 Squadron were posted into two British squadrons of No. 11 Group which had big casualties. P/O Goth with Sgt Furst was transfered to No. 605 Squadron to Croydon. He died on 25th October 1940 during the dogfight with Bf 109s from JG51 over Terderden. At 15.15 his Hurricane I P3909 (SD-) collided with other Hurricane I V6806 from No. 605 Squadron piloted by P/O K. W. McKenzie. He died when his plane crashed at Manor Farm near Staplehurst. (P/O McKenzie bale out and landed safetly on ground). He was burried on Sittingbourne and Milton Cemetery in Kent. |
