He came to No. 310 Czechoslovak Fighter Squadron on 12th July 1940. There he absolved retraining on Hurricanes during July and first half of August.

He was wounded on foot during dogfight over Clanton on 26th August. He attacked one Dornier Do 17 from III/KG2 but in the same time four Bf 109 from II/JG3 attacked his Hurricane I P3960 (NN-). After this dogfight was his plane heavily damaged and been on fire. He bale out over Goldsans at Southminster. He was treated in hospital at Rochford and next day he returned to Duxford.

From 7th April to 1st October 1942 he served as the flight leader of flight "A" of No. 310 Squadron and from 1st January to 1st September 1943 he was in the same function at flight "B" of No. 313 Czechoslovak Fighter Squadron.

On 1st September 1943 he started his service as officer at Czechoslovak Inspectorat General (CIG). On 31st January 1944 he took the command over No. 313 Squadron in the rank of S/Ldr.

On 22nd May 1944 he was transfered to No. 19 Wing (Flight) Headquarters and he was promototed to W/Cdr. On 3rd July he obtained Distinguished Flying Cross (DFC) for his excellent service with this citation.

On 1st February 1945 he was transfered to Czechoslovak Tranfer Pool (CTP) and on 8th March he came to Czechoslovak Inspector Pool (CIP).

From 2nd September 1945 he attend RAF Staff College and after the finish of study he was on 11th March 1946 repatriated back to CSR.

In 1948 when the Communist took over in CSR he emigrated to England and he entered the RAF again. On 11th March 1949 he was promoted to the rank of F/Lt and from 10th August 1950 he served at No. 209 Squadron as a pilot of Sunderland in Korean war. During this service was his name two times notified in London Gazette. First time on 21st March 1952 in the list of personnel who have been Mentioned in Despatches for distinguished service in Malaya and second time on 24 April 1953 when he obtained bar to his DFC.

On 1st January 1963 he was promoted to the rank of S/Ldr and he served as a Senior Air Traffic Controller at several stations around UK, at RAF Station Seletar in Singapore and RAF Station Gan at Maldives. His last day of service was on 27th August 1970.

He died on 31st December 2002 in Dumbarton, Scotland.
