He came to No. 310 Czechoslovak Fighter Squadron
to Duxford on 6th August 1940. There he have passed retraining on Hurricanes and he
became operational pilot.
On 5th November 1940 was his Hurricane I V7588 (NN-B) hit by own Anti-Aircraft fire and he made belly landing on field at Detling unwounded. In the end of 1941 he passed retraining for twin-engine nigh fighter planes at No. 54 Operational Training Unit (O.T.U.) at Church Fenton and on 21st February he was posted to No. 68 Night Fighter Squadron together with his good friend P/O Vopalecky. When he finished his operational duty on 8th February 1943 he moved to No. 24 Squadron where he served till 1944. Next unit where he served between 1944 and 1945 was No. 167 Squadron and the last one in 1945 was No. 147 Squadron (all Transport Command). From 1946 he was a pilot of CSA from where he was turned off in 1950. He died on 25th March 1995 in Praha. |
