On 11th October 1940 was his Hurricane I L1807 damaged by enemy fire from one Dornier Do 17Z but he safetly landed on base.

On 27th May 1941 he became the leader of flight "A" of No. 312 Czechoslovak Fighter Squadron.

On 20th July 1941 he appointed to the funtion of leader of No. 313 Czechoslovak Fighter Squadron.

On 15th December 1941 he was moved to Czechoslovak Inspectorate General (CIG) and he became the Liaison Officer at Headquarters of No. 10 Fighter Group.

On 26th November 1942 he was a pilot of as a Wicko GM1 ES947 which was flying to funeral of other Czechoslovak fighter pilot, Sgt Frantisek Remes. His plane in unfavourable weather struck to rope of the baloon barrage over port Cardiff and crashed into the sea near docks. Passenger G/Cpt Cizek died but he survived and was picked up from the sea seriosly wounded. For next eight months he stay in hospital.

In 1943 he sailed to Canada when he served as assistant of Czechoslovak Air Attache.

In march 1945 he moved to USA where he graduated course of General Staff School.

After war till 1948 he served as Chief of Staff of No. 4 Air Region in Bratislava. On 2nd March 1948 he was turned off into reserve and he immediately emigrated to Great Britain. There he joined RAF again where he flew Meteors and Vampiers in the rank of F/Lt and active duty he finished in Sudan.

Then till 1958 he served as Commander of Navigation School which used Vicker Valettas. Then follows service as Liaison Officer RAF at French Air Force and as Commander of Radar Station.

In 1968 he retired in the rank of S/Ldr. In 1991 he was moraly rehabilitated and promoted to the Czechoslovak rank of Colonel and in 1992 to the rank of General-Major.

He died on 20th June 2001 in Oxford, England and was burried in "veterans" part on Brookwood Military Cemetery.
